The Position:
Your service as a
Volunteer Instructor supports People’s global mission to offer affordable,
quality, online, degree-granting educational programs to any qualified student.
Volunteer Instructors should plan for a weekly commitment of around 15 hours
for each nine-week term. The University issues a modest reimbursement to
Volunteer Instructors that ranges ($450-$900 for undergraduate and $650-$1300
for graduate level) per course. This is intended to cover expenses associated
with teaching such as internet service, subscriptions, or other materials.

Math; History; Art; Accounting; Management; Finance; Computer Science; Biology; Health Sciences; Sociology; Psychology; Economics; Education (Doctorly Prepared only)
- Devote
approximately 15 hours per course per week
- Maintain
an instructor presence in the course with frequent check-ins and timely
responsiveness to students
- Communicate
effectively with diverse student populations and an international
administration
- Teach
course subject matter to ensure every student can master the learning outcomes
- Regularly
check in with Faculty Affairs personnel regarding any course issues
- Monitor
course grades and finalize grades by deadlines
- Model sensitivity to a diverse student population, representing the full spectrum of cultural, political, socio-economic, and religious backgrounds
What You Bring:
- Expertise
in the subject area of the course
- A
completed masters or doctorate from an accredited institution
- Online teaching experience preferred, but not necessary
