Job Description - Overview:We would like a customer-focused expert, with a flair for understanding and interpreting scientific information, to join the Publication Support Services (PSS) team at CACTUS. Our clients are predominantly researchers whose first language is not English.
The PSS team offers a full range of services to meet authors' publication needs, including conducting a literature review, selecting journals appropriate for their manuscripts, preparing their manuscripts for submission with technical content review and language edit, and assistance with the journal submission process.
We are a remote-first organization so you can work from anywhere in India. You may be required to travel to our Mumbai office based on business requirements or for company/team events. In this role, you are required to work on one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) per month.
Job Responsibilities:
Quality assurance:
You will be required to perform quality assurance checks on the processes along the publication journey, including journal selection, technical critique of the manuscript, scientific writing and formatting for journal submission to ensure that they meet the standards of international publications
Communication:
Your role will involve reviewing the work of our subject area experts and providing them with timely feedback for continuous quality improvement. In addition, you will communicate with clients to ensure that their expectations and preferences are being met
Process management:
You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to meet client requirements and manage processes for providing client services to time and target
Qualifications and Prerequisites:
Education:
Master’s degree in Humanities / Physical Sciences / Medicine / Life Sciences / any other subject area
PhD or other advanced degree
Experience & Skills:
2-4 years’ experience of working with/in teams
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Experience of publishing or working in a related industry
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate with professionals from different fields, both internal and external
Well versed with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to read, digest and evaluate scientific documents for quality assurance and checks
